Does my phone have to be on in order for the tracker to notify where it's at?
The tracker will communicate with the server as long as there is LTE-M reception. However, you will only receive notifications if your phone is on and the app has permission to your location so it can run in the background.
Does my Bluetooth have to be turned on and my location on my phone?
The trackers update their location in 3 different ways:
- The tracker will use the GPS position of the phone with which it is connected in Bluetooth, it copies its position.
- The tracker scans the addresses of the surrounding Wi-Fis networks. It places itself in the middle of the 3 closest networks.
- The tracker locates itself by calculating its GPS position using GPS satellites.
Does the Invoxia app on iOS/Android have to be running in the background in order to receive notifications?
Yes
I turned on a movement notification and significant journey notification and Smart Alarm so that it would not send notifications as long as the Android phone is with me. But I'm wondering what happens if it gets stolen?
If your valuables are stolen, once out of Bluetooth range, you will receive a significant journey alert or movement alert.
Will I be notified outside of the app? Is it going to tell me by email?
As long as you have notifications turned on, your app running in the background, and your phone not in power saving mode (which restricts notifications) you will receive a push notification from the app.
