Your tracker has gone missing? Here are the Invoxia GPS app tools to find it, from its last known position down to the last few meters.
1. Turn on lost mode
When the app cannot reach your tracker, it asks "Do you want to turn on lost mode to help you find your Tracker?": tap "Lost Mode" to turn it on, or "Everything is fine" if the tracker is not lost.
In lost mode, the tracker calculates and sends its position every 2 minutes, even when it is not moving. This mode uses a lot of battery: it turns off automatically when the battery drops to 20%.
Lost mode cannot be turned off during the first 24 hours, nor remotely. After that, go near the tracker with Bluetooth on and tap "Everything is fine". On the GPS Tracker Pro, Smart Alarm must also be turned on to exit lost mode.
On the GPS Tracker Pro, the tracker page also offers "Actions if lost or stolen". From there you can:
- "Activate Real-Time Boost": the tracker sends its location every 30 seconds, 30 minutes at a time (you can extend it). Activation may be delayed, from 2 minutes up to 24 hours if the tracker is not moving;
- "Share a theft report", which includes a QR code with a tracking link, or "Share the location of my tracker";
- open the "Proximity Radar" (see step 4).
Your safety comes first: do not take action without the support of the police.
On low-power network trackers (Classic, Mini, Pet, Bike), lost mode is only available on the LoRa network, in France and Switzerland. It does not exist on Sigfox.
2. Go to the last known position
Go to the place where the tracker recorded its last position, with your phone's Bluetooth turned on.
3. Use "Find me" (iOS)
Open the "Find me" section of the app. The tracker can be anywhere within the blue circles, up to about 100 meters around the point shown. As you get closer, the circle turns red and the number in the middle gives an approximate distance. For a Pet Tracker, also remember to look up (trees, hedges).
4. Narrow it down with the proximity radar
For the last few meters, select your tracker, tap the settings icon, then "Proximity radar". The radar works over Bluetooth: once you are within range of the tracker (about 20 meters), it helps you pinpoint its exact location. Sweep the area until it detects the tracker.
Bluetooth must be turned on: if the app shows "Bluetooth disabled", turn it on in your phone settings. If the connection does not start, turn your phone's Bluetooth off and on again to create a new connection.
If the tracker's battery is completely empty, it no longer sends its position and can no longer be detected over Bluetooth: only its last known position can then guide your search.
