The GPS Tracker Pro Max relies on 3 methods to locate itself:
- Bluetooth: when it is within range of your smartphone and you have allowed the Invoxia GPS app to access your location at all times, it copies the phone's position in order to preserve its battery life. In this case, the accuracy is that of your smartphone's location.
- Wi-Fi positioning (WPS): when it is within range of Wi-Fi access points, particularly in urban areas, the GPS Tracker Pro Max detects the surrounding access points and deduces its position by calculating itself as a central position. This technology works indoors and consumes less battery than GPS. The accuracy can then vary within a radius of 5 metres in dense urban areas, up to 80-100 metres where houses are somewhat farther apart from one another (that is, less dense suburban areas).
- GPS: when it has no other option, the GPS Tracker Pro Max uses GPS to locate itself. Depending on the quality of the signal received, the accuracy can vary between 15 and 100 metres. Certain factors, such as stormy weather, a sky obscured by trees, being indoors, or other sources of error, can affect its accuracy. We cannot guarantee that the GPS signal will work 100% of the time, as connections to the GPS satellite signal may experience interruptions, outages, or dead zones.
Accuracy therefore depends above all on the environment: in open outdoor areas, the GPS signal offers the best positioning, whereas indoors or in dense urban areas, it is Wi-Fi positioning (WPS) that generally takes over.
💡 When you check your last position in the app, the blue circle around the position indicates the accuracy radius: your GPS Tracker Pro Max may be anywhere inside this circle.
💡 If you have lost your GPS Tracker Pro Max, go to the last position shown in the Invoxia GPS app and launch the Proximity Radar. Carry out a methodical search of the area, moving slowly until your smartphone detects the tracker via Bluetooth. Once the tracker is detected, you can make it ring, or continue the search and track in the Proximity Radar how close you are getting to it.
