This article explains the relationship between position frequency and the battery life of the GPS Tracker Pro Max. If you have any other questions about the GPS Tracker Pro Max, we invite you to visit the Help Center.
The GPS Tracker Pro Max features a 2,000 mAh Li-ion battery rechargeable via USB-C and offers a battery life of up to 6 months depending on your usage.
⚙️ Position frequency
The GPS Tracker Pro Max records a position at an adjustable interval, from 1 second to 32 minutes, or on demand. In live tracking mode, it can report up to 1 position per second for real-time tracking.
🔋 The frequency / battery life trade-off
The higher the position frequency, the more often the tracker communicates and the faster the battery drains. Conversely, the lower the frequency (positions spaced further apart) or in on-demand mode, the longer the battery life — this is how the GPS Tracker Pro Max can reach up to 6 months of battery life.
In summary:
- High frequency (up to 1 position/second, live tracking) → precise and responsive tracking, but reduced battery life.
- Low frequency (up to 32 minutes) or on demand → maximum battery life, up to 6 months.
Like the GPS Tracker Classic, the battery life of the GPS Tracker Pro Max ranges between 1 and 6 months depending on the chosen frequency and usage conditions. These are estimates for movements of 1 to 5 hours per day under standard reception conditions.
💡 Various factors to take into account
- Whether your phone is near the tracker with Bluetooth enabled
- The daily duration of movement
- The geographic area (whether Wi-Fi networks are available)
- Areas where GPS location is difficult to obtain (basements, garages, etc.) and therefore more energy-intensive
