If you use an Android smartphone, a few conditions are required for the Invoxia GPS app to work properly and to communicate with your tracker. Here is how to check that your phone is compatible.
1. Required Android version
Your smartphone must run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later. Older versions cannot install or run the app correctly.
2. Access to the Google Play Store
To install the Invoxia GPS app, your phone must:
- have access to the Google Play Store,
- be compatible with Google Play services.
⚠️ Important: Huawei phones that only have the AppGallery store cannot install or use the Invoxia GPS app.
The app must also be allowed to access the phone's location to connect to the tracker over Bluetooth.
3. Processor compatibility
Some processors can prevent Bluetooth data from being transferred properly between your smartphone and your tracker.
Compatible (recommended)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon
- Samsung Exynos
- Google Tensor
- Huawei Kirin
Problematic, often incompatible
- Most MediaTek processors: Bluetooth transfer issues, so communication with the tracker is unstable or impossible.
A document listing the incompatible models is available here: Incompatible Android Phone.pdf
Tip
If you have trouble with the Bluetooth connection or with pairing, your phone very likely has hardware limitations.
An incompatible phone only prevents you from setting up the tracker, changing its settings or dissociating it. It does not prevent you from viewing positions. You can set up the tracker from another compatible phone or tablet signed in to the same Invoxia account, then view the positions from your own phone.
