This article explains how to choose the function of your GPS Tracker, when you install it for the first time. If you have any further questions about the GPS Tracker we invite you to click here. If your search concerns other products we invite you to visit the Help Center.
When you install a new tracker, the Invoxia GPS App prompts you to choose your tracker's usage. You have 4 choices: "person", "animal/pet", "vehicle", or "other". This choice will impact how your Tracker works, so choose wisely.
If you wish to change usage during the Tracker's life, please note that you will need to dissociate it from your account and reinstall it.
Here is the description for each usage mode:
-
Vehicle
You will use your Tracker to track a motorcycle, a car, any type of vehicle. The Tracker will send its position regularly while the vehicle is moving, following the frequency of position that you choose in the app settings, and every 4 hours when parked to save battery life.
-
Pet
You wish to track a cat or a dog, or more exotic animals (we have a few sheep and even a crow!). In this mode, you will have access to an "activity journal" Invoxia GPS App, which allows you to visualize your pet's activity (running, walking, feeding / drinking, scratching, barking...) through time.
In terms of tracking, beware that the Tracker will only start sending locations after two minutes of detection of a physical movement such as walking or running. If your pet is at home and not on a walk, the Tracker will send positions every 4 hours to save battery life.
When tracking a pet, please note that if you take them on a ride in a car, the Tracker will not send any locations as it will not detect pet walk or pet run. the Tracker will resume sending positions as soon as the pet is out of the car and on a proper walk.
-
Person
You wish to monitor a person, such as a child or an elderly. With this mode you will not have access to anti-theft alerts. The Tracker will send its position regularly when the person has left home and is moving. Otherwise, it will slow down and send positions every 4 hours to save battery life.
