🔌 The tracker can be permanently connected to a power source in your vehicle. The GPS tracker must never be connected directly to the vehicle's electrical system.
The use of a power adapter is mandatory. Depending on the use of the vehicle, two solutions are possible:
- If the vehicle is rarely used (less than once every 3 months), it is preferable to connect the adapter directly to the battery to ensure that the GPS Tracker remains permanently charged.
- If the vehicle is used regularly, the adapter can be connected either to USB plug or to the after-market power supply.
- You can keep your tracker plugged into an external battery, however make sure it is not smart battery, as the amperage required for our trackers to charge is quite low, the smart battery thinks its a bug and won't charge. Minimum output current: 500 mA. Adapters with an output current of 1A or more are acceptable.
