Depending on the version of the software it shipped with, your Triby may some have trouble establishing a Bluetooth pairing with Android devices. We put a lot of care into assessing the quality of our inventory; this is not a widespread issue and only affects a small number of Tribys.
If you are having trouble using your Android smartphone to pair with Triby, your Triby was shipped with an older version the software. While you will still be able to use your Triby as a Bluetooth speaker, you will need to update your Triby's software in order to use any of the features that require a WiFi connection.
There are 2 ways to fix this:
- Using an iOS device (borrow one from a friend?), set up your Triby as normal (instructions here). Then, once Triby has established a WiFi connection, it will automatically update its software. With the updated software (version 10.34 or above) you will be able to pair your Triby with your Android device. Click here to check which version of the software your Triby is running. Once this is done, you'll be all set to use your Triby with both Android and iOS devices.
