This article explains where to place a GPS Tracker Pro Max. If you have any other questions about the GPS Tracker Pro Max, we invite you to visit the Help Center.
The GPS tracker will only work properly if you follow certain guidelines.
1) Metal is not your friend
The tracker (like any electronic system) is sensitive to metal and magnets, which can prevent it from communicating properly. It is therefore important to avoid placing it in a fully metal compartment, as this could create what is known as a Faraday cage.
On a bike:
For this reason, if you use your tracker to protect a bike, it is strongly advised against placing the tracker in the frame, the handlebars or the seat tube, unless your bike is made entirely of carbon fiber. The most reliable option is under the saddle if possible. You can also slip it into a piece of bike gear such as a saddlebag.
You can also try placing the tracker inside the plastic casing of your bike's motor.
In a car:
If you use a tracker in a vehicle, make sure the tracker is a few centimeters away from the metal parts of the vehicle and that there is no metal directly above or around it. The tracker should ideally lie flat, with the Invoxia logo facing up.
In all cases, after placing your GPS Tracker Pro Max where you intend to use it, perform a test by taking your vehicle for a ride while making sure your smartphone's Bluetooth is turned off.
2) Water and humidity
Good news: the GPS Tracker Pro Max is waterproof (IP67). It is protected against dust and withstands temporary immersion (less than 1 meter deep for less than 30 minutes).
You therefore do not need to provide any specific plastic protection against rain or humidity: your tracker can be exposed to the elements and used outdoors without any particular precaution in this regard. Simply avoid prolonged or deep-water immersion, which exceeds the limits of the IP67 certification.
